Zoar Baptist Chapel, Burgate Lane

This small chapel is actually built into the remaining part of the City Wall in Canterbury in Burgate Lane. On the reverse side, or rear of the Chapel, it is designed to look like a water tower built into the City Wall. On the front, is a small plaque at the peak stating the denomination and the fact that it was originally constructed in 1845.I believe that this Chapel has, or had, a close association with the Eyethorne Baptist Chapel at one time. At the present time, I cannot find that the Canterbury Cathedral Archives has any records for this small Church. However, they may well be at other places I have not investigated, such as The Society of Genealogists.
