This is a fairly recent addition to our Kent churches having been constructed in 1863 of the traditional Kentish ragstone. Located on Boar's Isle it was founded by its first vicar, Seaman Beale. He also established a school next to the church in 1864 and it is still in operation today as the local County Primary School. I don't think the Church was established as a chapel of ease to St. Mildred's but more likely that it was established to service a community which was growing and spreading out some distance from the central part of Tenterden.

When I visited the Church there was no details available about its history which is obviously somewhat limited anyway. Inside it is typically Victorian and in this case the whole building is an example of what we see in parts in older churches that have been renovated during the 19th Century.
