A little bit about me, if you're interested!Born in Whitstable and grew up in Canterbury, Kent. Educated (and I use this term very loosely) at the St. Stephen's County Primary School (now called St. Stephen's Junior School which just goes to show you can't stop progress) and later at The Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys. I'm always pleased to hear from any ex-Langtonians that might be passing through. You'll be pleased to know that the hallowed halls still stand despite attempts to; blow up the science wing with ether (and an attempt by Bradford, the then chemistry master, to cremate to himself with burning sulphur!!), set fire to the cricket pavilion, attempts to re-establish pagan worship and rights in Southern England and other odd things like depositing a pike in the goldfish pond. Sadly, many of the familiar names are no longer with us. Maggie, Hummer, Monty, and Joe have all passed away, and those are just the ones that I know about but 40 years on, when afar and asunder...... I suppose they were right, we still remember. You might also be interested to know that in 1998, after 110 years in it's present form, the school will be admitting girls which makes a change from the ones that were smuggled in previously.
I have spent most of my working life in banking and am an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in London, England and a Fellow of The Institute of Canadian Bankers, having moved to Canada in 1975. I lived just North of Toronto with my two children, Jennifer and Nick, up until early 1998. Having been clinically down-sized by the Canadian Bank I was with for twenty years, I have recently had to move back to Kent in England and now design internet sites and try to solve virus and PC hardware problems. Not wishing to miss the chance of "a plug", if you need a web site completed, please contact me. My business is centred in Canterbury and East Kent.

I started designing this site in 1994 because there seemed to be a lot of people from outside England that had roots in Kent but didn't know too much about it. The site started as one page and is now totally out of hand! Hopefully, as time permits, it will keep growing.
Footnote: I have recently returned to live in Kent - I will revise the information on this page shortly. (December 2,000 - I wrote the previous comment about two years ago and I am still pottering around Churchyards as and when I can. )
