April 10, 2009 Another Spring and little has happened with this site as I have been too
busy with commercial customers. I now seem to have some spare time and will
try to update and correct many of the pages on the site which need replacing
and pictures adding to them as time permits. January 28, 2005 Weather here wet and cold although I have seen some daffodils out already.
I am aware that some pages on this site will not presently work with the new
Firefox Web Browser. I will rectify the problem when I have time but as I
stated recently to some students who contacted me, you get what you pay for. May 15, 2004 March 13, 2001 The first case of "Foot and Mouth" disease was confirmed on the
Hoo Marshes in Kent this week. Since then there have been reports of two more
suspected cases near Rochester and Horsmonden. No material, including pictures,
will be obtained for this site that requires entering farming areas with livestock
until the present crisis is over. Any rural pictures of Churches or the surrounding
countryside will have been taken prior to this outbreak and are from my existing
stock of pictures. If the outbreak continues for any length of time I will
concentrate only on Churches in Towns and Cities. May 6,1998
The first of the new additions to the Military section of this site has
been completed and gives the names of the Officers and Men of The Buffs known
to have lost their lives in W.W.I. I'm sure that many visitors to this site
would now benefit from using The Search Engine that I have provided if they
are looking for particular names.

Now that I am well and truly back in Kent I am quickly trying to add pictures
that the site has been lacking before. Many of the Town and Villages pages
will be updated and a new section called "Memories of Kent" has been started.
The Military section has been renamed and there will be large additions, thanks
to great contributions from two of the regular visitors to this site, Alan
Holden and David New.

As the result of a couple of local and unusual server problems some of my mail might have been "bounced" this week. If this did happen to you, please send again, I am still here at the moment!
In regard to this comment about "still being here", I will be moving at
the end of this month. During this time, interactive pages such as "The Kent
Meeting Place" and "The Buffs Garrison Notice Board" will not be able to accept
messages. They will be opened up again around the third or fourth week in
February when my move is complete. During that period, PLEASE DO NOT SEND
E-MAIL as I will not be able to reply and it is probable that it will never
reach me anyway. Thanks. I received kind permission from the Kent Messenger Group Newspapers to reproduce
pictures that had been taken by them of Canterbury during W.W.II. Some of
these pictures have already been used to construct a new section entitled
"Canterbury at War".
It's been a long time since I've added anything to this page. Summer has arrived
this week after Spring being rather a "non-event" here in Kent.
I have added very little to this site in 2003 because of two things. Firstly
I have been busy sorting out computer problems, viruses and web sites for
other people and secondly, I got drawn into helping an American lady from
Chicago with a thesis for her MA who, unfortunately, turned out to be an extremely
specious person and wasted a lot of my time.
Anyway, hopefully things have settled a bit and there should be a lot
more added to the site in the near future.
