The Church of St.
James
© P.E. Blanche 2002

The picture of Egerton Church which has been sitting on this page for several years now was not correct and my apologies for this error. On a tempororay basis a view of the right church is now included above but this willl be substituted for other pictures and a full description in the near future.
The Church of St. James is built on the highest point of this village which is supposed to one one of the limits of The Weald of Kent, although the exact definition of The Weald is a little vague. I do have a picture taken from the top of the heavily buttressed tower of the Church which I cannot reproduce because of copyright. However, it must be one of the finest views anywhere in rural Kent.
